Our Promise

Next Steps Nursery prides itself on its staff and a commitment to their continuous professional development. We are registered with the National Day Nursery Association. This ensures that the children benefit from staff that are up to date with current legislative, educational and research developments. The ethos of the nursery is one of care and commitment to the individual child… and to you as Parents.

The staff work brilliantly as a team because they feel valued and supported within the setting and our commitment to genuine partnership with parents is a priority.

Staff are recruited from the highest level and hold qualifications ranging from degrees to NVQ’s or equivalent in childhood studies.

The nursery has an Early Years Professional who oversees the curriculum planning throughout the nursery.

Why Next Steps Nursery?

Because Next Steps is unique in both its rural setting, inspirational facilities and its constant strive to develop and improve the experience's for children in its care. Ofsted believe that there is an "excellent partnership with parents which enables (the Nursery) to successfully meet the children's needs."

There is a huge emphasis placed on continual professional development of the staff and on strong leadership, with Ofsted commenting that "their enthusiasm has an extremely positive effect on the children who are motivated and eager to learn".

These are just some of the reasons why Next Steps genuinely aspires to be one of the best nurseries in the UK and why Ofsted describe our children as "extremely happy, relaxed and confident".

Nusery Building
Play Area

Next Steps Nursery is purpose built to the highest of standards. It is a magical setting for children to be in.

The outside space boasts amazing purpose built play areas which have been carefully planned to encourage and develop children’s experiences. We provide continuous learning opportunities indoors and outdoors and provide learning opportunities through all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

The outdoor areas feature tunnels, bridges, sand, water and an array of both natural and man made materials. There are grassed areas to develop a forest school area.

Indoors, the nursery is furnished and maintained to the highest of standards. Qualified staff regularly choose and research new equipment to enhance children’s learning. Our curriculum plans include a wide variety of activities that enable children to reach their full potential.

Our Rooms

Little Steps

Little Steps

Through play and interaction, babies are encouraged to explore the world around them. Our Little Steps Room is rich in colour, shape, texture and sound.

It is crucial for children to get the very best start in life and here at Next Steps Nursery our childcare team will work in partnership with you to ensure we follow your child’s routine. This will help everyone settle into nursery life. We also keep a daily diary, including records of sleeps and feeds.

Big Steps

Big Steps

As children begin to learn more about themselves and the world around them, they want to explore, experiment and problem solve.

Each activity is a learning opportunity – sorting shapes and sizes introduces early mathematics, enjoying rhymes, singing and music encourages language development and painting, mark making and messy play stimulate creativity and imagination. Our outdoor area develops physical skills and links to all areas of the EYFS.

Giant Steps

Giant Steps

The Giant Steps Room provides a carefully planned curriculum working towards the Early Years Foundation stage. Children are motivated to learn and develop new skills.

There is a balance of adult and child initiated activities, which include music and movement, painting, role play and physical play, both indoors and outdoors. Experienced staff observe your child's progress and respond to their individual needs.

Healthy Eating

We continually review our Healthy Eating menu. We aim to support the staff with nutritional training. All our meals are nutritionally balanced with a large emphasis being placed on developing children’s tastes from an early age. We offer a 3-stage baby weaning menu and advice is given to parents regarding weaning.

If your child requires a special diet for cultural or dietary needs our cook will endeavour to liaise with you to ensure we provide similar food to that provided at home. Below is one of our children’s current favourite recipes

The weekly fees for a full time place is £190 per week; for sessional attendance the fee structure is £25 / half day or £40 for a full day (we reserve the right to change these fees).

Fees are calculated on a daily basis depending on part or full time sessions agreed for your child’s attendance and will include all food and drinks (including formula for babies), nappies, barrier cream, wipes and sun cream.

Where possible, employees are encouraged to make use of the salary sacrifice scheme which will be available for payment of the fees. Payment must be made monthly in arrears via the agreed payment method (salary sacrifice, cheque payment or bank transfer). You should understand that the salary sacrifice rules require you to forsake part of your cash pay entitlement that would have been due to you under your contract of employment and in return for this Next undertakes to provide you with childcare services via the Next Steps Nursery.

Because salary sacrifice requires you to forsake cash pay entitlement it is only to be operated for your agreed annual fees for your expected nursery usage, temporary variations will be operated outside of the salary sacrifice scheme.

Annual fees will be split into 12 equal monthly installments operated within salary sacrifice where possible. Any adjustments to your agreed monthly installment level arising from the previous month will be operated via the payroll where possible and will be shown clearly within your payslip as a net pay deduction (not within the salary sacrifice scheme). Where it is not possible to make adjustments via payroll because of the restrictions regarding national minimum wage protection you will instead need to satisfy these by cheque payment or bank transfer.

Where two employees wish to split the payment of fees, we reserve the right to apply the fee to the higher earner in the first instance and only to the second employee if a balance is owing; thus using the most tax efficient process for the salary sacrifice scheme.

Proforma invoices will be sent to you each month. There will be no reduction of fees if your child does not attend allocated sessions / days. No charge will be made for the one week we are closed at Christmas. Outstanding fees must be paid by the 27th of the month following the invoice date. Normally all fees will be deducted from salary, however where they are not, for any fees that remain unpaid by the 27th of the month following the invoice date, we reserve the right to make a 5% surcharge on all outstanding accounts. We reserve the right to cancel places if arrears amount to more than 3 months total fees.

Normal fees apply during time off for sickness and holidays.
